Herbalism first came into my life through my family. I wanted to raise my children close to nature, and when the opportunity arose to learn from a local herbalist, I jumped at it. My learning was hands-on, season by season, through making medicines with the plants around me. This way of learning ~ grounded, practical, and embodied ~ is how I learn best, and I’ll forever be grateful for it.

Over the years, I have set out to meet and learn from the plants around me. I’ve come to know many, and there are still so many more to meet. What I love most is beginning with what is local and abundant ~ so often, just what we need is growing close by.

Heart Essence Herbals was born from a wish to share these skills and medicines more widely. I believe that everyone can learn to make their own herbal remedies for their families if they feel called to ~ and I love passing on these skills whenever I can. For those who are called to other paths but want access to high-quality plant medicine, I’ve got you.
